Another morning snowshoe hike in the White River National Forest, but this time we took the Stag Gulch trail #1866. This trail went up and up and up. We got some beautiful views through the aspens and a distant view of the Holy Cross Wilderness area. The hike was only about 1 1/2 miles, but it was straight up and the snow on the trail was crusty and harder to hike on in spots. It really took a lot out of us. We came back and chilled out a bit. We saw a couple of mule deer walk along the golf trail right outside the living room window. Wow, this place is a wildlife sanctuary!
Since I’ve been cooking every meal since we’ve been here, we’re going out for dinner tonight. We’re planning to start the night at the Gore Range Brewery in Edwards for a beer and then we’re going to the Main Street Grill for dinner.
