Freedom of the Press?

This is really disturbing.  While I don't necessarily agree with Democracy NOW's stance on everything, no member of the press deserves this kind of treatment just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time.  The video below shows Amy Goodman, host of Democracy Now simply trying to inquire about her other staff which have been arrested.  As a result, she gets arrested herself.

An AP photographer was arrested as well... again, hardly covered by the major media.  To make matters worse, none of the major media houses are reporting on this.  Is this really the USA?  Seems more like China to me...  <sigh>

From CREDO action:

Jailing journalists is unacceptable in a democracy. But that's exactly what is happening at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Award winning journalist and host of "Democracy Now" Amy Goodman was arrested by St. Paul police while covering a protest outside the Republican National Convention. Though clearly identified as press, Goodman was charged with "obstruction of a legal process and interference with a 'peace officer.'" Two of her producers were arrested for "suspicion of felony riot."

To tell you that this arrest was brutal and upsetting simply doesn't do it justice. Watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYjyvkR0bGQ to see for yourself. Then take action.

Please have a look and take action.
