The Sandbox

Yes, we are alive.  We did actually close on the home, but not without last minute financing scares.  I suppose we were even lucky to get a loan, given this news.  I may detail our financing nightmares in a later post, but for now, I'll simply offer this advice:  Get a loan before going into self employment.

We've been so busy moving all the stuff that we have scattered across the state of Colorado into our home.  Even after moving much of this stuff, the home still echoes... we'll have to wait until September when we pick up our stuff from Birmingham.  In the mean time, we are really enjoying the mountain views... they are amazing, even in the dark!  Just the other night, I sat out on our front deck and just watched the lightening bounce around the mountains, with visible bolts heading to their targets.  It was a very moving, spiritual experience.

So far, we have very few complaints.  The worst so far... there is definitely something blooming out here that is driving my allergies crazy.  With all of the rain we've been getting, that's no surprise I guess.  Also, the area is quite sandy, and the sand tracks and blows into the home quite readily.  This is especially bad since we are constantly going in and out, moving stuff, and working on home projects.

I spent an entire day last Tuesday stringing Cat5e cable throughout the house, inside, outside, and in the crawlspace, in preparation for our DSL hookup, which just happened today.  We now have network connections in our kitchen and den.  Now that the DSL is moved, we will move our office today.  Oh boy!  More moving!

In the meantime, we enjoy our virtual sandbox inside the house from tracking all that sand in!  Add that to the dog fur, the scattered boxes, and it's just a mess!  Ahhh... moving.

We'll post some photos soon.
